Jesus Isn’t Afraid of Your Questions
Ever feel like you're not allowed to ask questions in church? Like doubt equals weakness, or curiosity somehow means you don’t have enough faith?
That’s not how Jesus sees it.
In fact, He invites your questions.
From Thomas asking for proof of the resurrection to the disciples constantly questioning His teachings, Jesus never shut people down for being unsure. He met them in their questions and revealed more of who He was. "Then He said to Thomas, 'Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing'" (John 20:27, NKJV).
Faith isn’t blind—it’s based on understanding who God is. And that understanding comes from seeking, knocking, and asking. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7, NKJV).
Your questions don’t scare Jesus. They draw you closer. He knows the difference between a Pharisee asking questions just to distract him and the disciples asking questions because they truly want to understand how he operates.
He isn’t looking for perfect faith—He’s looking for real relationship. A relationship in which you are willing to grow in faith.
So take the brakes off! Ask the hard stuff. Be honest about your doubts.
Because when you bring your questions to Jesus, you won’t be met with shame. You’ll be met with truth. And in that truth, you’ll find freedom (John 8:32).
